Most patients are able to have their surgical weight loss procedure covered by their insurance. However, there are exceptions, and additional fees that may apply:
- All patients will have to pay a Program Fee for Castle Hospital. This charge incorporates many of the services that are not reimbursable by your insurance. Specifically, the Program Fee encompasses Dietician Consults, Exercise Specialist Consults, Support Groups before and after surgery, programmaterials, data management, and supplemental seminars in well-being.
- Cash Pay patients will be given a package price for the procedure encompassing surgeon, anesthesia, and hospital fees. Patients will be automatically enrolled in BLIS, which is a supplemental insurance policy that will cover the remote possibility of a complication. Please call our office for an updated fee schedule.
- Medicare patients can receive their surgery at Castle Medical Center with Dr Fowler because they are designated a Center of Excellence(COE). Medicare will cover the hospital’s fees, but the patient will be responsible for the surgeon’s fees out of pocket since he is not contracted with Medicare.
