Bariatric Surgery History
Dr. Fowler came to Hawaii in 2004 after completing his surgical training in Los Angeles. In 2005, in cooperation with Castle Medical Center, the Surgical Weight Loss Institute was founded. Dr. Fowler is the acting Medical Director for bariatric surgery at Castle. In September 2009, Dr Fowler, ALOHA Surgery, and Castle Medical Center received the Centers of Excellence (COE) title from the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery ASMBS. Dr. Fowler concentrates solely on surgical weight loss in a structured comprehensive program.
